Courses By Level

Oakwood’s Introduction, Fundamentals and Certified courses are designed to support learners at different stages of their professional development.

Our short Introduction courses are FREE and provide a concise and accessible starting point for those looking to explore a new subject area. These short courses introduce key concepts and principles, offering a broad overview to help learners understand the fundamentals of the topic and its relevance to organisational resilience.

Our Fundamentals courses are ideal for those who are ready to deepen their understanding, offering a solid grounding in key principles, terminology and practical application. Each course provides a focused deep dive into a specific area of resilience, helping learners build confidence and capability in distinct but critical domains. They typically last between 8 to 12 hours and are assessed through a series of short quizzes completed during the course.

Certified courses are designed for individuals seeking a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the subject. These programmes involve approximately 120 hours of study and incorporate a blend of guided learning and written assignments, enabling learners to demonstrate both their knowledge and their ability to apply it in realistic scenarios.

  • What is the difference between an endorsed course and a regulated course?

The main difference is that a regulated course is a qualification approved by a government body like Ofqual and sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), guaranteeing it meets national standards. An endorsed course is a bespoke program developed by a training center, such as Oakwood, and is quality-assured by an independent awarding body, such as the Skills and Education Group. The endorsement shows that the provider is committed to high quality and enables the providers to provide their learners with Certificates of Achievement and external recognition on the completion of their course. However, endorsed courses are not regulated or accredited by Ofqual.
